1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
1. What is the
first impression Mark wants his readers to have about Jesus (1)
2. The term “gospel” means “good news”. What does this
tell you to expect from a sincere journey through this book? How convinced are
you that this would be the case for you?
2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet,
“Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will
prepare your way, 3 the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way
of the Lord,
make his paths straight,’”
make his paths straight,’”
3. What does the
prophecy from Isaiah tell you about Jesus?
4. This prophecy
was written down approximately seven hundred years prior to Jesus coming into
the world. What does it communicate to us that such things happened just the
way the prophets announced ahead of time?
