“Righteousness and
justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go
before you.” (Psalm 89:14)
Because absolute righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne, the things that go before him, the things that are expressed out of his righteousness and justice, are perfect steadfast love and faithfulness.
I can see now why it is that those Christians who struggle with the issue of God's justice regarding things that have happened to them, also struggle to have faith that God loves them with a steadfast love that is faithful to all his covenant promises.
Today's encouragement is simple: tell God, through Jesus Christ, that you believe the foundation of his throne is righteousness and justice, and ask him to give you the fullest possible experience of his steadfast love and faithfulness that is possible for any child of God to have this side of heaven. Then wait in faith for God to lead you into the answer to your prayer.
