Body-of-Christ Encouragement
In our home church,
we try to keep an email going where our people can add anything God is teaching
them from his word. This gives us daily encouragement from one another, and
often shows us how the Spirit is at work to get the whole body of Christ to
learn the same things together.
Today, after
posting my sharing about “A Song of Steadfast Love”, my wife Fern sent out what
God was showing her in his word. It became an additional blessing to me far
beyond what either of us could have planned. To show you how it spoke to me, I
highlighted the same words I had already shared from Psalm 89:
5 Your love, Lord, reaches to
the heavens, your faithfulness
to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the
highest mountains, your justice
like the great deep.
You,
Lord, preserve both people and animals.
7 How
priceless is your unfailing
love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They
feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of
delights.
9 For
with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. (Psalm 36 NIV)
I was very
thankful for my wife’s testimony of how this spoke to her, and thankful for the
reinforcement of the righteousness and justice that are the foundation of God’s
throne, and the steadfast love and faithfulness that are expressed from his
throne.
Again, it does
not matter what bad things we may see happening in this lifetime, on this
earth, in our lives, we persevere in our life of faith because God’s throne is
the safest, and best, and most glorious hope we could ever know. When he brings
his judgment on the nations for their rejection of his gift of life, we will be
thankful that we came to his fountain of life and saw the light!
From my heart,
Monte
