Humility is not merely the opposite of overt expressions of boastful arrogance. It is also the opposite of self-trust in its more subtle forms.
Many people who are hindered by their hurts, heartaches, and struggles, don’t see that their lack of freedom is not tied to their hurts, heartaches, and struggles! It is attached to their own self-dependence in handling those things. If God were handling the same things, it would be a different story.
In this home church video, we explore what it means to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand in order to trust him with things we have handled in our sarks, or flesh. Our freedom requires resting in him and his promises. Therefore, humbling ourselves before him is the necessary change of mind that recognizes how much better we would experience our relationship with him if we trusted him as God, and rested in him as his little children.
