Home Church Video ~ Wisdom Above, Wisdom Below, It All Depends on Who We Know ~ Part 2

Our world is lost and confused for the simple reason that, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.”[1]

Denying God corrupts what we do; simple as that.

However, while many people would not go so far as to deny the existence of God, and many people follow religions in which they have their own version of a god, there is still the characteristic of people denying the true God’s place in our lives as the God he is and in the relationship he desires.

In this home church video, we explore the connection between wisdom and fearing the God of the Bible. We consider why it is so important to know God by the name he has given us, transliterated into English as “Yahweh”, and how this distinguishes him from all other gods.

In particular, why is it that the quality of reverential fear of Yahweh opens our hearts to begin learning wisdom and understanding? We know we are to love God with all our being; we know we are to follow in his ways. But what is it about this reverential fear of Yahweh that gives us the foundation to become the “wise and understanding” God’s Book describes?

And, of course, since Jesus has been given the name that is above every name,[2] which is, “King of kings and Lord of lords,”[3] we also want to know how to relate these things to him.

This home church style video will help to answer these questions.
